2019 Maxima Wins Second J.D. Power Award of Year

The 2019 Maxima continues to sweep the J.D. Power awards collection, this time taking the top place in the 2019 APEAL study.

A+ APEAL

If you’re looking for an award-winning sedan, the 2019 Maxima has crushed the competition this year. The J.D. Power 2019 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study was recently released, with big wins for Nissan. The 2019 Maxima sat proudly upon the throne of first place among the Large Car Segment. This marks the second year in a row that the Maxima has won the honor.

As if that victory was not enough, it was actually the second award handed out to the 2019 Maxima by J.D. Power. Earlier this year, the sedan sailed to first place in the segment for the J.D. Power 2019 U.S. Initial Quality Study. Taking the top spot in both awards in the same year is extremely rare, with only seven other vehicles ever accomplishing the feat.

Award-Winning Sedans

The 2019 Maxima wasn’t alone in winning awards from the study. The 2019 Altima took the top spot in the Midsize Car category in a three-way tie. With 2020 bringing a refreshed Maxima alongside all-new versions of the Altima and Versa, Nissan feels their sedan lineup is set to conquer all competitors.

Other Strong Showings

While they didn’t take home trophies, three other Nissan vehicles surpassed the non-premium APEAL average this year. The 2019 Armada, 2019 Murano and 2019 Titan all performed admirably in their respective segments. Nissan noted that this was particularly great news for the Titan, which had an excellent performance in the year’s earlier Initial Quality Study. Much like the 2019 Murano, the 2019 Titan took the top spot in the Large Light Duty Pickup segment, with a seventh-place placement among all vehicles.

Appealing to the APEAL

The J.D. Power 2019 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study, held every year for the past 24 years, is one of the nation’s most prestigious automotive awards. Customers who purchased or leased a new vehicle are survey across the country to get their two-cents about their cars, trucks and SUVs. 77 different factors are considered and combined to create a final score.

With J.D. Power showering the 2019 Maxima in awards, it is hard to argue against owning this sedan. Come check out our selection today at Metro Nissan Redlands!

The 2019 Nissan Altima seats at the middle of the recent midsize vehicle’s reviews. The 2019 model features a couple of new and advanced features from the previous models but now there’s one thing that puts it to a lower category-low grade cabin. As a matter of fact, the 2019 Nissan Altima is a good vehicle especially because it features two strong engine options which offer a composed ride and a good fuel efficient drive. The above and more features make Nissan Altima a perfect match for your daily commute. Additionally, this vehicle features a spacious Cabin which makes it easy to load more passengers.

This vehicle also offers All-wheel drive and ProPiLot assist. Though, when the 2019 model is compared Head-to-head with some of the industries rivals, you will notice that some brands offer better interior.

The Rating

Nissan Altima 2019 model is a competent and capable family sedan. The 2019 model is loaded with countless helpful features that make it an excellent option. The 2019 model makes some bold changes for Nissan’s sixth generation. With the two new engines, sophisticated driver aids, and the all-wheel-drive capability, this is a good match.

Driving

I don’t have to start by saying Altima is a sport sedan but I can say it still has a move. It has a turbocharged engine that delivers a proper punch. The steering feel is also improved in this new generation. When driving, you feel the comfort and the smooth ride takes you to another world. Altima’s Zero gravity seats make it very comfortable. They are made from NASA’s only technology to improve shape, comfort, stability and cushioning. This is what makes them very comfortable even for long drives. The vehicle feels smooth even when riding on rough roads thanks to the complaint, well-damped suspension.

2019 Nissan Altima offers a comfortable ride which makes it a good value. They have also included a couple of standard technological features which makes this vehicle an excellent option in the class. The Altima’s next generation is here to launch with a new redesign in the 2019 model year. Nissan has given the 2019 model’s engine power boost. 2019 features a 188 hp as opposed to the 179 hp in the previous model year.

The manufacturer has also brought forward the energetic and more fuel efficient turbo four engines that replace the previous V6 engine in the previous models. Additionally, it comes with a larger standard touch screen and a collection of additional features including Apple Carplay, three extra USB ports, android auto and satellite radio.

The other thing is that the new Altima is very expensive especially if compared to the used models. However, with all the additional features and improvements in the engine, you should consider getting a new 2019 Nissan Altima.

Price

The 2019 Nissan Altima has a starting price of $23,750 which is considered average for the class. They also have five additional trim levels: SR, SV, SL, Platinum and Edition One. All wheel drives in models with the Standard 2.5-liter engine is available for $1,350.

The Interior

Nissan Altima seats 5 people. The other thing is that it features zero gravity seats that are praised for being the most comfortable seats in the market today. The rows are very comfortable and spacious for adults. The driver’s seat is an eight-way power-adjustable seat that adds to the already existing comfort. The 2019 model also has a more modern-looking dashboard featuring brand-new infotainment interface. Reviewers also praise the 15.4 cubic feet of cargo space which they think is average for the class. One drawback is the hinges that may impede upon cargo room.

The standard Infotainment system in Altima is a major improvement over the previous generation’s system. The system includes an 8-inch touch screen with a very user-friendly interface. The dashboard also consists of superfluous knobs for audio and temperatures control.

Performance and Reliability

The 2019 model comes with a 188-hp 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that is an improvement from the previous 179 hp engine. The engine offers a solid acceleration but if you are concerned about more power you can opt for 248-hp turbocharged 2.0 liter 4cylinder. The new engine is very fuel efficient and very powerful as opposed to the previous V6 engine.

The 2019 model has an above average predicted reliability rating. It also comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.

Altima Safety Features

Just like any other manufacturer, Nissan has included a couple of safety features to prevent accidents and at the same time to reduce the risk of death in case of an accident. The vehicle is given a good safety rating by the IIHS in six crash tests. The 2019 Nissan Altima has some safety features including automatic emergency braking, a rearview camera, and a forward collision warning. Nissan takes advantage of the launch of its new Altima to introduce the Nissan Altima Edition One. With the new 2019 Nissan Altima, Nissan has caused quite a surprise at the New York International Auto Show. We were expecting a new Nissan Altima, that's true, but maybe not a model that would have so many new technologies and whose character and personality would also be transformed. Indeed, the new 2019 Nissan Altima will be completely different when it arrives on the market later this year.

All-Wheel Drive Arrives in the New 2019 Nissan Altima

To begin, the new 2019 Nissan Altima will be offered with all-wheel drive. It becomes one of the few mid-size sedans to provide all-wheel drive and all the benefits that come with it.

Available in limited distribution, the latter is based on the Altima Platinum version with the addition of 19-inch dark gray alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, custom floor lighting, door sills illuminated, carpet and badges Edition One.

Speaking of safety, the new Nissan Altima 2019 will be equipped with Nissan's exclusive technology called ProPilot. ProPilot is a set of safety and driver assistance features that improve driver comfort and reduce fatigue on the road. With ProPilot, your 2019 Nissan Altima will be able to automatically apply the brake if another car cuts you off the road, in addition to keeping you in the center of the lane on the highway by automatically adjusting the steering.

An emergency braking system in reverse will also be offered on the new Altima 2019. This device will detect if an obstacle is behind you and automatically apply the brake when necessary if you do not apply the brakes by yourself.

Other technologies include front, rear, and side surveillance and response, including an intelligent emergency pedestrian detection system, an emergency reverse braking system, a system Lane Departure Warning System, Radar Blind Warning System, Cross Traffic Alert System, and High Beam Headlamps.

The 2019 Nissan Altima will now be powered by a turbo engine in its high-end version. This turbo replaces the 3.5-liter V6 engine of the previous generation and offers more power while being more economical. 3 Reasons Why the Nissan Sentra Grows in Popularity

The Nissan Sentra is a classic compact car with a stylish interior and modern features. It is a reliable, practical choice for young couples, families and commuters alike. Plus, the updated 2019 Sentra has more to offer in terms of modern tech and entertainment features. It includes a modern infotainment system with a user-friendly interface and a wide range of options for entertainment, navigation, and more. The newest Sentra model on the market also offers competitive gas mileage, averaging up to 37 MPG on the highway.

Unfortunately, the Nissan Sentra and other compact cars like it have experienced a rapid and significant decline in sales over the last couple of years. All over the U.S., sales of small passenger cars are on a downward trajectory while SUV and truck sales have been skyrocketing. However, many experts expect that pattern to reverse itself soon, putting compact cars on top again in 2019.

Threat of a Recession

The recession of 2008 devastated thousands of families across the United States, leaving far too many Americans jobless with high levels of debt and little to no savings. While there are no guarantees when it comes to the ups and downs of the U.S. economy, recent downturns in the housing market and several other factors have many Americans feeling nervous about the possibility of another recession in the near future.

Those who were heavily affected by the 2008 recession are eager to avoid the mistakes and lack of preparation that left them in financial ruin when the economy took a turn for the worse more than ten years ago. For many Americans, that means making smarter choices when it comes to purchasing a new car. To avoid debt and expensive repairs, many drivers are opting to buy affordable, efficient, and reliable compact cars—rather than splurging on a costly brand new SUV—in preparation for the possibility of a recession at some point in the near future.

High Debt

Americans are in more debt than ever. Student loan debt and credit card debt are at an all-time high, and recent statistics show that American drivers currently owe more than a trillion dollars in car loan debt. Seeing as more than 40% of Americans who buy a car are dependent on some type of auto loan to finance that car, the shockingly high levels of car loan debt are personally affecting a huge number of drivers in the U.S.

Fortunately, buying trends seem to be shifting toward more forward-thinking, practical choices when it comes to buying a new car. In fact, many drivers are opting to purchase more affordable, reliable compact cars with price tags that won’t bury them in debt for the next decade. These changes in the buying patterns of American drivers favor compact cars over larger trucks and SUVs that tend to be less efficient and more expensive.

Unstable Fuel Prices

The fluctuation of fuel prices is not a new phenomenon, but the cost of gas and predictions for the direction of future shifts in price have been particularly unstable as of late. Within 2018 alone, the average price for regular gas across the United States rose from about $2.50 up to just under $3.00 and hovered between $2.80 and $3.00 average for the last six months of the year. In areas of the country where fuel tends to be more expensive, prices rose up closer to $4.00 or even more.

While Donald Trump emphatically insists that gas prices will drop significantly in 2019, experts are not as optimistic. It is true that gas prices are currently lower than they have been for several months, but no one knows for sure how oil prices will shift in the coming year. Many drivers are unwilling to risk another year of stressing out over unpredictable sharp increases in gas prices.

Fortunately, modern technology and advancements in vehicle design have made it so that Americans have more options when it comes to how much control they allow fuel prices to have over their lives. Fuel efficiency has come a very long way in the past few years, and the type of car you choose to buy is one of the major deciding factors of whether you end up with a greedy gas guzzler or a conservative fuel sipper.

Compact cars overwhelmingly win first prize for highest fuel efficiency overall. It’s hard to find a full-size truck or SUV with gas mileage that keeps up with the amazingly high efficiency of many modern compact cars on the market. Some of the most fuel-efficient small cars that are currently available on the market for 2019 get an average combined mileage of more than 50 MPG, with the most efficient hybrid cars averaging up to 60 MPG. Buying an extremely fuel-efficient car gives drivers peace of mind and saves them from worrying about the instability of gas prices throughout 2019.
